You're the third teacher to explain the personal infinitive to me - but the first one who actually made me understand it. Thank you!

I’m really enjoying the step-by-step unlocking of each module of the B1 Course - it helps me solidify each lesson before moving on. If I had immediate access to everything, I know I’d end up rushing through it too quickly.
And I loved the explanation about contractions with object pronouns - it all makes sense now when I see them in messages!

I really enjoy Leo's podcasts, but I needed something more interactive - and the B1 Intermediate Course was perfect. I liked the format, David’s story was really interesting, and the grammar and Cultural Moments were very useful. I recommend it to anyone looking to improve their intermediate level of Portuguese. Thank you!

The B1 Course is very well put together. It’s great that it follows a storyline - David’s story - with vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation sections along the way. I also really appreciated how you brought us closer to Portuguese culture and history through the Cultural Moments. I would recommend this course to anyone who loves Portugal or the Portuguese language.

Hi Leo, I did Erasmus in Aveiro in 2017 and fell in love with the country and its culture! I just wanted to say that I’m really enjoying your B1 Course! Thank you so much for everything. I really admire your work! Thank you!

I really enjoyed the Cultural Moments in the B1 Course. I hope more people who visit Portugal take the time to learn a bit of Portuguese and also look into ways to help with the challenges that exist. Thank you so much for the course!
I loved the style of the lessons - they’re short, clearly explained, and easy to follow, even for beginners. It’s great to be able to learn from a native Portuguese speaker and hear the language used naturally. I also found it really helpful to repeat the sentences out loud and hear how they’re pronounced correctly. I feel like I’m finally gaining the confidence to speak and understand Portuguese better.

I consider the B1 Course perfect, with all the materials and videos.
I’ve already completed the B1 course and took the final test, scoring 95 out of 100.
It’s the best course I’ve ever taken. I really appreciate your teaching style, the variety of content, the detailed explanations, the repetition, and the tips and suggestions on how to study. Congratulations to you and the team!

I really enjoyed the B1 Course because it’s very well structured. One big plus is how methodical it is - there are videos, virtual conversations, crossword puzzles, and I especially liked the concept of exercises corrected by ChatGPT. It’s amazing and works really well.
Another highlight is the chapter breakdowns. You give examples, explain things clearly, go over everything again, and give feedback. It really helped me a lot!

WHY LEARN THROUGH A story
The magic pill in language learning is comprehensible input—content that’s just challenging enough to push us forward but not so difficult that it becomes frustrating.
But that’s only half of the formula! We learn best when the content is interesting, captivating, and meaningful. And the way the human brain is most engaged is when listening to a story!
You won't be able to stop
You’ll be hooked on David's journey, just like with a book or TV show. Your curiosity will drive you forward, helping you learn naturally
Emotion-fueled memorization
Emotions enhance memory. When a story resonates with you, you’ll retain vocabulary and grammar effortlessly
Context-based learning
The story comes first—you’ll absorb words and grammar in real conversations, not in artificial and lifeless dialogue
Relatable, real-life scenarios
David’s experiences mirror real-life situations you’ll face when traveling to Portugal. Live through him and learn as he does!

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for those with a basic knowledge of Portuguese who want to reach a solid B1 (intermediate) level. It’s also great for low-intermediate learners looking to strengthen their skills.
What if I’m not sure about my level?
If you have a basic knowledge of Portuguese and can understand around 50% of my YouTube videos with subtitles, this course is likely a good fit for you.
You can also take the placement test on my website—if you score at A2 or B1, then this is the right course for you.
Or send me an email at contact@portuguesewithleo.com, and I’ll help you figure out if this course is the right level for you!
Are the lessons live or pre-recorded?
All lessons are pre-recorded with subtitles in Portuguese and English, plus accompanying PDFs. You can watch them anytime, as many times as you want, at your own pace!
What language are the videos in?
The videos are entirely in Portuguese, so you can immerse yourself in the language from the start. But don’t worry! I speak clearly and slowly, and every lesson includes subtitles in both English and Portuguese.
What happens when I join the course?
You’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to access the course, along with instructions on how to get started. The first module will be available immediately, and new modules will be unlocked weekly.
How long do I have access to the course for?
Once you've signed up, you have lifetime access to the course, which means you can revisit the lessons whenever you'd like and benefit from any future updates at no extra cost.
Can I use the course certificate for Portuguese citizenship?
No, the certificate from this course cannot be used for Portuguese citizenship applications. Portugal requires an official A2-level exam called CIPLE (Certificado Inicial de Português Língua Estrangeira), which is issued by CAPLE (Centro de Avaliação de Português Língua Estrangeira).
However, this course follows the same CEFR standards (Common European Framework of Reference) used in official exams, ensuring that you develop your Portuguese in a structured and effective way. By reaching the B1 level, you’ll be well-prepared for the official exam, and also gain confidence in real-life conversations, work, and daily interactions in Portugal.
Why is the price in US dollars and not in other currencies?
The platform I use to host the course, Teachable, does not support automatic currency conversion. Since I have students from all over the world, I had to choose a single currency, and USD is the most practical option as it is the global reserve currency.
Additionally, Teachable only allows PayPal payments for courses priced in USD. If I offered the course in any other currency, PayPal would not be available as a payment method.
What’s the refund policy?
If for any reason you don't like the course, you have 30 days to send me an email at contact@portuguesewithleo.com and i'll issue a full refund, no questions asked
Do you have more questions?
Send me an email at contact@portuguesewithleo.com
I normally answer within 24-36 hours.
